:: SHORT DESCRIPTION
Overall objective:
Montenegro has repeatedly been struck by natural disasters including flooding, seasonal wildfires, unusually high levels of snowfall and earthquakes. This project relates to the implementation of activities regarding prevention of fire risks, increasing education and strengthening the preparedness of members of operational units for protection and rescue, as well as procurement of necessary fire protection and rescue equipment. Better preparation for- and prevention of risks, including fire hazards, natural disasters etc. is the goal.
This project also has an allocation for the payment of medical fees, medication and the like as well as baby food and hygienic articles needed to prevent infectious diseases that often increase in times of crisis or after natural disasters. Vulnerable members of Roma and Egyptian communities and residents of the municipalities of Tivat, Budva and Herceg Novi will be the focus of efforts.
The specific objectives:
Specific Objective: Better inclusion of RE communities in Montenegrin society
Expected results:
Strengthening of the protection and rescue service capacity, as well as the capacity of the volunteer firefighting associations in the municipalities of Herceg Novi, Tivat and Kotor. Increasing the capacity of the Directorate for emergency situations and of the entire protection and rescue system in Montenegro.
